Very interesting. Having lived in LA in my college years in the 1990s and then gotten involved in some of the city's many underground movements, I know the city has long been a hotbed for occultists and it has a very deep dark side, too. And considering in the early to mid 1930s, it was a somewhat mainstream position, paraded in places like the New York Times, that Hitler was doing good things for Germany after its horrible 1920s, it's not hard to imagine that German ex-pats would have been super supportive and may have bought into the eugenics concept that elevated the German Aryans above the rest of the world. Anyway, I'll be curious to read part 2!
