Umair: I always enjoy reading the way you work through your ideas on the page, even if you feel they may not turn out as successfully as you hoped.

Personally, I think you’ve hit upon a very real dichotomy – freedom vs control – that absolutely is what the battle for the future is all about.

One thing I think you might add into your idea is that the control is sold to us by the promise of false comfort, the idea that because we have been in this algorithm of control it is comfortable to remain there, for to move into freedom entails responsibility and more actual choices. Why do that when we can remain in our comfort zones?

The thing is, though, it seems as though capitalism’s comfort zones are shrinking and as it becomes less and less comfortable for more and more people, they will likely feel more desire to risk the path of freedom for they have less at stake. That said, those in control will likely then try to counter that with a lot more stick and a lot less carrot (since they have less carrot to offer!).

Not sure if that makes sense, but those are my own attempts to elaborate on this important topic.
