Thanks for writing this. I've rarely found Rock humorous and one of the main reasons is too often he "punches down." It's the kind of comedy that comes from a disconnected heart. And to try to weasel out of it by saying it was a joke about GI Jane, yeah, whatever.

Anyway, the easy take is to condemn violence. But such takes are ignoring the viscous insensitivity of Rock's "joke."

It was/is nice to see a man who loves his wife like Will does.
