Thanks for this well-written update on life in Taiwan! You inspired me to do two things:

1) Contact a lifelong friend who has been teaching in Taiwan and who I've not exchanged messages with in several months to ask how she is doing and for her insights into your situation.

And 2) Write an update about the strange, evolving situation here in Japan, because they are some similarities (cases rising, government rules, limited access to vaccines) but also some differences (notably, how the upcoming Summer Olympics plays into the politics of it all).
