Thanks for the positive and helpful feedback, Matt!
I sometimes am not sure if I am taking my ridiculous style too far sometimes, so try to watch it, but also realize it is my voice (or one of them) and it does seem unique. Plus, I have a lot of fun with it!
Especially as it often surprises me and makes me ask, Where in Sam Hill did that come from? I mean, you highlighted “pour some sugar on me,” which really made me happy because when that popped into my head I almost didn’t write it but then thought, I’m feeling groovy tonight, what the heck!
So thanks for noting that. I’ll be mindful that at least one person out there likes it. Ha ha.
I am going to officially change my profile to a tag I’ved used in the past year or so on other forums – Serious Fool. I like this because it is the language of paradox, which I find is often the language of Truth (our either/or culture gets so carried away with that logic that it would have us argue that night is better than day or vice versa, summer versus winter, man or woman, etc., etc….when the reality is these things are two sides of the same coin and both are awesome and both are terrible!
I don’t actually much feel that last part, but I do recognize that all things have their Light/Shadow side and I’m even learning to recognize the non-duality, non-judgment of Shadow as bad.
Anyway, gonna change that profile now. I want to write some more of my personal growth type posts and about to the point now where I’m going to create a weekly writing schedule with topics for certain days (but doing my podcast, which I release twice a week and which I am reading my novel on, is kind of my main scheduled artistic endeavor now, as I finish up my regular day job through March.)
Anyway, the Fool Archetype fascinates me as in traditional courts, it was the Fool who was allowed to speak Truth to Power (the King) because no one took him seriously. In this way, the comic/Fool is allowed to say what we all often think and get away with it as well as channel that knowledge into society.
But the Serious part of the Serious Fool is because I am actually very serious, or a better word may be earnest, about my work. I do my best not to bullshit myself or my readers. I may play the game of bullshitting, but it’s all done with intent and ultimately, I hope people can easily know I am serious.
But if not, hey I can be a Serious Fool, too! Either way, I’m having a good time being me and it feels like it’s what I’m supposed to be doing.
Last, to really play this role, I think my having learned to stay in touch with and develop my Inner Child is very key. It’s fun being playful especially when done with conscious intent.
Okay, thanks again for reading!
Tally ho, and until later alligator!
