Thanks Allison! I can answer the question: I was sorta "stuck" in Japan! I'd meant to be in the US working on a non-fiction book about what I intuited was going to be a historic year for America and was NOT happy when the Japanese government made a rule that ONLY Japanese people could leave the country and return, but I've come around to feeling good about staying here in 2020 and watching things unfold from afar.

Still, as a journalist by training if no longer by profession (not counting the pennies I make writing blogs on Medium!), I do like to be where the action is and wish I could be there to help in whatever way I can. Time being, though, I'll just report from afar and send my love to all in the U.S. who are going through such a rough-yet-fascinating period.
