Nonsense. Politics is played in all sorts of ways. In addition, fascism was also defined by one of its founding practitioners, Mussolini, as the merging of the State and corporate power. Starting with that definition, it can then manifest in many different guises, including putting on a nice, gentle, caring face that speaks of safety and protecting the environment and restoring democracy. It need not be violent on its face, though it uses the threat of force to maintain its power.
In other words, fascism can rise (and has been rising) through the neoliberal, corporate worldview which now seems well at home in the Democratic Party.
Add that to the fact the Republicans have long felt at home in this mindset and we've got a REAL problem, one which extends so much deeper and broader than Trump and the 2024 election.
