Thing is, Trumpism rose out of conditions that BOTH parties helped create since the neoliberal/neoconservative movements took over the parties in the 1980s.
Thus, there is something more than voting We The People can do to diffuse Trumpism; Demand real change in the living conditions of everyday Americans by pressuring the Biden Administration to deliver on those changes that his former partner, Barack Obama, promised back in 2007–8.
There are millions of voters who voted for Obama in 2008 who voted for Trump in 2016 because they wanted a candidate who was going to change the culture in DC and who was going to make government work for the People again.
Thus, if we can push the Biden Administration in that direction, a direction that the Democrats used to be comfortable in going in the FDR days, there’s a good chance the living conditions can improve enough that a Trump type, who thrives on dissatisfaction and angst, will not succeed.
