I welcome respectful agree-to-disagree comments, as they help foster solid communication that may lead somewhere.
To explain my comment just a bit, a few points. Please note that the "baby" in my comment was very intentional, meaning that Trump is light years worse (like he's 75 years worse? Figure out the degree as you will).
Like Trump, Biden is
1) a habitual liar.
Examples: 1) In 1988, his first run for president, his campaign was knocked out when the media revealed that Biden had lied to a large degree about how he entered law school and his success there.
2)2019-20 campaign examples: Biden made three rather egregious claims that Politico rated as "false." He said, the Obama administration “didn’t lock people up in cages.” He also claimed that, “Immediately, the moment [the Iraq War] started, I came out against it.” And… “I was always labeled one of the most liberal members of Congress.”
That's just a few from this article I've linked below (which granted is an opinion piece but the facts are valid). There is also his distancing himself from the "tough on crime" bill act in 1994 that he helped and that has, in some ways, led to some of the issues that we are seeing play out in the post-George Floyd world relating to police injustice towards the black community, as well as criminal justice issues in general. (This is a big, complex issue and this is merely a response to a response so I'll leave it there and let you do the digging. Here's a good article: https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/joe-biden-let-police-groups-write-his-crime-bill-now-his-agenda-has-changed/2020/06/08/82ab969e-a434-11ea-8681-7d471bf20207_story.html)
(Now, apologies, but this has already taken 10 minutes more than my 5 minutes of alloted time, so I'm only going to give two more reasons why I see him as Baby Trump as I write this more like a Facebook post, without links and more from the top of my head)
2) He is a bully.
You can see this in the way he has poked his finger into the chest of voters who have actually taken time out of their busy lives to come and hear him out and consider giving him their vote, and when he tells voters like that, "Don't vote for me then, vote for Trump!"
Biden has long had this combative streak, but I'd suggest that there are some people who, when they get older, become more stubborn and their personality traits can be heightened. Note, I'm not referring to what I see as his cognitive decline here; merely a reasonably observable fact of the aging process that I'd suspect most readers have personal experience with (but if not, watch Grandpa Simpson on "The Simpsons.")
And last (but there are others, I simply must wrap this up)
3) He is a hawk.
Biden's ads on China seem to suggest Trump is too weak on China. Now, I am no fan of the Chinese Communist Party and believe a hard-line with them is actually warranted, because it has already proven itself to be a great detriment to the human lives of its citizens and is growing in global influence. However, we must tread carefully here so as not to trigger regional wars or worse (I live in Japan so this is perhaps even more concerning to me and my family than it is most who are reading this from the States).
In addition, the Establishment Democrats have really blown their load about Russia and the influence of Putin, again not a character I support in any way, but again, one must not always wave a strong stick and I am not real confident in Biden (or said Dem's) ability to manage such sticky global relations in a way any less dangerous for humanity.
Okay, those are just a few of my concerns. I probably should turn this into a proper blog post, but I've already vowed that I want anybody but Trump in the White House so would keep reasonably quiet on the shortcomings of Biden and instead focus my writing on Bigger Picture issues as well as, if I do address this campaign, some good ol' fashion rambunctious, wild satire, which this comment here might suggest I can't pull off (but I can, brother, oh yes I can!).
Anyway, if anyone read all this, I thank you for your time and hope I answered any concerns you might have about why I see Biden as Baby Trump but also reassured you that Baby Trump is still better than Out of Control Monster Trump.
