How do you know? Perhaps he'd land in such a way that he is relatively unharmed physically.

Or perhaps he is, as your post seems to assume, going to suffer some injury, but this injury is precisely what his body/mind/soul have been crying for, for it gives this workaholic time to rest and reflect on his life and make some positive changes to it.

Or perhaps he is, as your post perhaps suggests, going to die from his cliff diving and then...well, who knows what the reality he will experience is, but as guy who has been fascinated by Near Death Experience accounts for almost 30 years, well, not too many of those would be defined as anything close to "disturbing."

The point is, you don't know as much as your post implies that you do!
