Great article. Really well-written with lots of insight and solid historical examples.
I first began to take astrology seriously back in 2007 or so when I read Richard Tarnas’ “Cosmos and Pysche,” still one of the most erudite and profound books I’ve ever read (and as a writer and reader, I have read a lot!).
But I kind of forgot about it until a few years ago when I started to listen to a few podcasts, notably Adam Somner’s Holes To Heaven (though I believe it had a different name then). That said, it wasn’t until last summer when I was going through a rather rapid leveling up of my consciousness that I finally got around to really making it a primary field of focus and study.
And, well, wow. It’s fascinating to me that back in December I watched/listened to a variety of astrology podcasts/YouTube videos forecasting 2020 and every single of them said: Big Freakin’ Year. Meanwhile, none of the more mainstream sources I (sometimes) pay attention to made any such prediction. Besides this being a presidential election year, none had much of a sense of how big world events would be in 2020.
Yet if anybody reading this wants to “test” astrology, just go back and watch predictions for 2020 on various channels. Personally, I am a big fan of Kaypacha of New Paradigm Astrology as well as Eugenia Krok of Accessible Astrology , but there are other goodies too (Pam Gregory, Molly McChord and the folks at the Astrology Hub and Astrology Podcast).
Until recently, I didn’t have the confidence in astrology to post so publicly about my support of it as one of many tools to comprehend our fascinating world. There’s so much nonsense about why it is nonsense and that is all based on the very limited understanding most modern people have as a result of reading silly horoscopes in daily newspapers.
Okay, enough from me (and I didn’t even get to the fascinating topic of your post! Maybe next time!). Great job, and I only wish I could give you more than 50 claps!
