Every time Umair writes about all of this rising fascism he sees, I’m going to post on his Comments a call for him to actually look at the left-wing version of it.

Case in point: The Democrats absolutely appalling, unpatriotic display of anti-First-Amendment ideology when REAL, well-respected journalists Matt Taibbi and Michael Shellenberger testified in front of Congress last week (I think it was Thursday, March 9th).

All I saw from the Dems was misunderstanding of the PRINCIPLES of the First Amendment and why they matter, arrogance, inability to listen, lack of heart and a very serious hatred of the institution of real journalism (not to mention a grave misunderstanding of why journalists need to protect their sources and the obvious reality that journalists, like everyone else, need to make a living and the ones who do it well, like Taibbi, deserve to be paid well for their work).

If Umair could start writing fairly, doing as he is now and pointing out right-wing examples of these nefarious trends AND writing about when the so-called parties of the Left like the Dems do it, then maybe I’d start taking his analysis more seriously.

At this point, if you can’t see it but spend so much time writing about it like you are an expert, it’s because you don’t want to see it.
