Just yesterday I was listening to a podcast about the Archetype of the Mother, and on it they mentioned how our popular culture doesn’t have many dramatic representations of the mature form of this Archetype, that quite often female protagonists instead follow the model of the masculine archetypes of Warrior, Lover, Magician and King.

I think this related very much to your article, that we de-value mothers (and their children). As a result our culture lacks a healthy nurturing orientation.
