Agreed. I read this article and I see that it quotes something called the Center for Countering Digital Hate (CCDH) and I think to myself, is someone like Kennedy motivated by "hate"? One may disagree with his perspective, but I've heard enough of him over the years to feel reasonably confident he's not motivated by hate and I think the same can be said for the VAST majority of us, no matter where we stand on this issues (or even if we don't have a solid stance).

I think the Messiah complex has infected many of us these days---the self-righteousness bug has been a key feature of the Covid-19 story. And personally, reading Matthew's article here, I get that same vibe from him, I don't see much generosity toward those he covers, nor in more scientific/secular terms do I see much steel manning of their perspectives.
