Absolutely it’s a terrible slogan, but it’s the same kind of abusive psychology the neoliberal Democrats have been using on those of us who actually want a party to represent the masses for decades now.

If it felt like a good faith effort to move the party in a positive direction then it might have some resonance with me. But it’s not because not only couldn’t the party get behind the candidate with the largest movement behind him (Bernie Sanders) but they couldn’t even give us progressives a compromise in Elizabeth Warren, who I have some pretty big issues with but who I at least feel has the mental capacity and the caring heart to be a capable president, unlike the person they are all rallying behind now as though he was their first choice all along.

It’s a sorry state of affairs, but yet another in a long line of actions that the party has taken that makes me think it’ll be lucky to survive the next four years, let alone the decade. And, you know what? That might actually be a good thing for us progressives.
